Welcome to the World of Blogging

This is my first attempt at creating my own blog.  In the past, I have read and followed blogs.  I use them mostly to get ideas from other teachers.  I always find that I am really jealous of other teachers fantastic blogs, but never thought I could pull one off.  After reading about blogging it seems completely doable.  I look forward to trying to learn ways to incorporate blogging into my 2nd grade classroom.  I want all of my kiddos to be familiar with these things to help them meet the standards of being a 21st century learner.  I look forward to these blogging adventures.

  2. Keeping a blog for your classroom would be a great way to keep parents informed with everything that is going on in the classroom as well as general education news / ideas. I was thinking that I would like to start a blog for my GT parent group because of the way that blogs lends themselves to a conversation as well. Cool ideas!

  4. I've always been envious of the ability of other teachers/librarians to create such appealing blogs but like you, feel I can do it myself now. I'm still shocked at how easy it is to put together something pretty basic. I have only followed one blog for a very short time because I always thought of them as diaries, but for people who wanted to share them with the world and just wasn't interested in reading about someone's life that way. Now I know how useful they are as a teaching/learning tool so look forward to searching for some great teacher blogs to get ideas from! I picked this template as well; it looks cool :)

  5. One of my favorite blogs is, http://bainbridgeclass.blogspot.com/. I get ideas, tools, resources, and lots of inspiration from her blog. I check her blog all the time and the archived section has tons and tons of information.

I also use http://frogsbeesundertheseas.blogspot.com/. They have recently done some renovations, so I haven't used it in a while.

The last one I use all the time is http://www.theorganizedclassroomblog.com/. I find that my goal every year is to become more organized. To say this teacher is organized is an understatement. I glean a lot of ideas from her.

I hope you enjoy these blogs. They are just a few of the many I follow. Please remember I teach 2nd grade so some of the material may not apply to you.

    Enjoy!!
